I wanna learn the story of my dad's '74 911. It's turning 40 this year and I wanna know the build date, where it was sold, and all that stuff! I know somethings about it, some things I don't and quite a few things he may or may not have forgotten over the years. I have the VIN, but it's not like a modern VIN. Anyone know where I can/should go before I take a look at forums for advice?

Have a 924 Carrera GTS for helping! :)

I'm adding another car.

You can get limited information by buying a COA from porsche. They will look it up on the original film database and find out the options list and build date, but i doubt they can find the location of sale.

I mean Since my dad's from Ohio, I assume he bought it new from an Ohio dealer. I never asked him about it though.
